About this event
Healing the Mind Meditation Class with Buddhist Monk in Quad Cities
The Four Noble Truths for Modern Life
This class is taught in the Quad Cities by Buddhist monk Gen Kelsang Dorje, Resident Teacher at Kadampa Meditation Center Madison. Every month from September through June, Gen Dorje leads a Friday evening meditation and teaching in the Quad Cities. In these classes, through teachings and guided meditations, we will explore the most profound teachings of Buddha which we can use as practical advice to solve our daily problems. Pre-register, or simply walk in!
How does suffering and problems cease? Only by gaining realizations that protect us from inner poisons of anger, fear, and confusion.
Our problems do not exist outside our mind. The real nature of our problems is our unpleasant feelings, which are part of our mind.
How to Solve Our Human Problems – Geshe Kelsang Gyatso
In these classes, through teachings and guided meditations, we will explore the most profound teachings of Buddha which we can use as practical advice to solve our daily problems.
In Sutra of the Four Noble Truths, Buddha says:
You should know sufferings. You should abandon origins. You should attain cessations. You should practice the path.
These instructions are known as the “four noble truths.” They are called “noble truths” because they are superior and non-deceptive instructions.
