- ➤ The nonprofit One Eighty in west Davenport announced a leadership change as co-directors Halupnik and Fish plan to retire soon and a national search committee was formed to hire a new executive director by August, shifting the organization to a single executive director model. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The new Riverbend FAME partnership will launch a manufacturing maintenance training program at EICC’s Blong Technology Center, preparing students for in-demand careers with hands-on, paid training in fall. The program, which is backed by local employers (Novelis, SSAB) and community partners, meets the growing need for skilled technicians. KWQC
- ➤ After a split vote, the Rock Island school board named Mario Sherrell as interim principal at Thurgood Marshall for the rest of the school year. The Quad City Times

- ➤ Owen Meyer thanked the UI Health Care AirCare team after suffering chest pain at a construction site Tuesday in Davenport; he credited their quick action with saving his life. KWQC
- ➤ UnityPoint Health offers free heart screenings in February for Heart Month. Blood pressure and cholesterol checks will run from 2 to 6 p.m. on Feb. 10 at Bettendorf, Feb. 12 at Rock Island, Feb. 17 at Moline, and Feb. 25 at Muscatine, with health experts ready to assist. - ➤ Rosecrance Behavioral Health in Davenport was re-accredited by The Joint Commission during a five-day survey from Jan. 12—16 that checked quality of care, safety, and consistency at its 21 Iowa and Illinois locations.
