- ➤ Dish TV customers experienced signal interruptions yesterday when Dish TV reported issues receiving KWQC-TV6’s broadcast (KWQC confirmed its transmitter worked normally). KWQC
- ➤ Happy Joe’s Pizza & Ice Cream reported a milestone year of franchise growth and industry awards in 2025. The Davenport-based company reopened a New Ulm location and hosted a special holiday event for nearly 2,000 children in Moline, and it will expand into Texas, Iowa and new markets in 2026. - ➤ BBB Serving Greater Iowa opened nominations for its 2026 BBB Torch Awards to honor local businesses for ethical practices. Applications close Friday, Feb. 27 — award ceremonies are planned for June 4 in Des Moines and June 11 in the Quad Cities. Quad Cities Business Journal
- ➤ Ruhl&Ruhl Realtors held its annual awards event on Friday, Jan. 30 at the Quad Cities Waterfront Convention Center, honoring 215 winners for their achievements in 2025 including top agent Lacey Daedlow from Davenport. - ➤ A new bipartisan law will ease out-of-state Medicaid screening for children with serious conditions by streamlining access so families in rural areas reach specialists faster; it takes effect in three years (per Iowa Sen. Grassley). KWQC
- ➤ Iowa lawmakers are reviewing House File 781 to remove a smoking exemption that allows indoor smoking on casino gaming floors, which is aimed at protecting workers and patrons from secondhand smoke (the measure cleared a subcommittee and awaits further House and Senate approval). KWQC
