  • Humane Society of Scott County executive director Erika Gunn said Davenport’s contract with the Humane Society will end soon, but residents can continue to use its services until year-end if an agreement is reached.   • Fareway Stores, Inc. donated over 69,000 pounds of ham on Tuesday, Feb. 3 to help ease food insecurity in Iowa. The food, split among three key banks including River Bend Food Bank in Davenport, will feed over 5,500 families — a boost for local hunger relief.  Quad Cities Business Journal

  • Delta Air Lines is set to add a third nonstop daily flight from Quad Cities International Airport to Atlanta, boosting travel options for local passengers. The new schedule (driven by strong community demand) shows a commitment to improved connectivity.  Quad Cities Business Journal

  • Farm Credit Services announced that customer-owners in Iowa received over $143.9 million in cash-back dividends—providing a 1% return on their 2025 eligible loan balances. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Nine Davenport Central students received John Deere Scholarships covering 90 percent of college costs at the University of Iowa as part of a local partnership with Davenport schools, while students from Davenport North and West also received the opportunity to pursue a full ride college education.  KWQC
  • Eastern Iowa Community Colleges got a $79,800 federal grant for its five-week CDL training program aimed at veterans and military families in Muscatine and at the Blong Technology Center in Davenport; the grant covers tuition for 14 students (each at $5,700) to meet industry licensing standards.  Quad Cities Business Journal
