- ➤ Quad Cities Community Foundation is expanding its leadership team to better support local nonprofits and strengthen community efforts — a move that aims to boost local collaboration. The Dispatch Argus
- ➤ Outdoor enthusiasts are invited to the Fishing, Hunting & Outdoor Adventure Show from today to Feb. 15 at the QCCA Expo Center, featuring vendor booths, seminars, Kids Kamp and Breakfast with the Pros on Saturday (tickets include a free rod, tackle pack and admission). - ➤ Lee Enterprises, a Davenport-based publisher, reported increased digital revenue, a $50 million capital infusion, and plans to save up to $90 million in interest through a credit amendment lowering the rate to 5% in its fiscal first quarter report released on Feb. 10 (period ended Dec. 28, 2025). - ➤ The Quad Cities International Airport has chosen Estes Construction for a $20M renovation project that will begin in March and take 18 months to complete, boosting the local travel hub. The Dispatch Argus

- ➤ Pleasant Valley Community School District announced that its new director of operations from Rock Island-Milan will be joining the team soon. The Quad City Times
- ➤ Davenport Community School District hosted Preschool Palooza at Hoover School for families to tour classrooms, meet staff and learn about preschool programs for young children+ another event will be held Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Campus Village. KWQC
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ City officials have opened sponsorships for the Veterans Tribute Banner program featuring 30 banners with veterans' details on light posts along the riverfront from Veterans Memorial Park to Centennial Bridge. Applications close Monday, Mar. 9 and the banners will hang from Memorial Day to Veterans Day. Quad Cities Business Journal
- ➤ Davenport City Council met Wednesday, Feb. 11, to decide if the moratorium on new solar farms and panels will extend until June 25—aligning with the West Davenport Land Use study. No inquiries about solar projects have been reported, and the freeze could end early if regulation changes are approved. KWQC
- ➤ Davenport announced that 41 current and eight new homeowner projects (from 285 applications) have been selected for $1.2M in funding through the DREAM Project. City staff contacted recipients for consultation while the program, which has awarded nearly $6.8M since 2019, prepares for future rounds to expand eligibility. KWQC
- ➤ Bettendorf police released a video today showing drivers what not to do near a stopped school bus to protect children. They warn that illegal passing may result in fines between $250 and $675, license suspension, or jail time. KWQC
