  • Teen Brayden Mildren has used his elaborate holiday display to collect Legos for the Center for Disabilities and Development at Stead Family Children’s Hospital. He delivered the donation Thursday to support children with autism + brighten the holidays for local families.  KWQC

  • Kirkland’s Home at 4235 Elmore Ave. is offering deep discounts as it prepares to close on Monday, Feb. 23 due to a merger that led to a rebranding under the Brand House Collective. The store closure is part of a cost-cutting plan following changes at Bed Bath and Beyond.  Quad Cities Business Journal
  • The Quad Cities Chamber seeks candidates for its new executive director post reporting to President & CEO Peter Tokar III to advance community economic development.   • The Women’s Business Center Program received a record $27 million in federal funding this fiscal year after bipartisan support passed a funding bill.   • The Figge Art Museum is hosting 'Preston Singletary: Raven and the Box of Daylight,' an exhibition that blends Tlingit oral tradition with glass art from today through Aug. 2. The event offers free admission, live storytelling, music, and an artist talk on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 5-8 p.m.  Quad Cities Business Journal
  • Toto will perform at Capitol Theatre on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. The band is set to play hits and deep cuts with extended solos from Luke, and tickets cost $44.50 to $130.  The Gazette
  • A memorial concert is being held today at The Rust Belt on 16th Avenue to honor Greg Hipskind, a local musician and teacher who passed away earlier this year. His former bandmates & other local groups will perform from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.  KWQC

  • Upper Iowa University now has a new location (at Scott Community College's main campus) in the Quad-Cities. The move will expand local education options and boost workforce training in the area.  The Dispatch Argus

  • Team USA’s bobsled team competes for gold as Davenport native Dave Juehring, who coached at three Olympics & helped the 2002 gold-winning women’s team, shares his track and coaching expertise.  KWQC
