GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Iowa House lawmakers passed a bill freezing tuition at public universities (Iowa, Iowa State, and UNI) for five years to block increases until 2031; the measure passed 86-5 and now heads to the Senate. KWQC
- ➤ Davenport Public Works reports that the Iowa DOT will begin replacing the bridge deck and pavement on U.S. 61 between Exits 124 and 124A on Monday — weather permitting. Detour routes for U.S. 61 and Scott County Road F-55 will be set during the work. KWQC

- ➤ The 2025 QCAR report shows a 7% rise in sold homes and a nearly 6% increase in listings amid tight inventory. QCAR’s CEO Sharon Smith said the market, centered in downtown Bettendorf, remains resilient with new inventory expected in February. Quad Cities Business Journal
