  • Local business leaders expect increased hiring this year as a Chamber survey shows optimism for growth, said Bill Polley of Grow Quad Cities. The survey indicates a promising start to 2026 for job opportunities in the Quad-Cities area.  The Quad City Times
  • Quad Cities based IMEG acquired Dallas firm KMCE on Mar. 2, expanding its subsurface utility locating and damage prevention services; KMCE will continue operating from its Dallas office + Joey Whiteside will lead integration efforts.  Quad Cities Business Journal
  • Russell of Davenport received multiple honors at the Master Builders of Iowa Excellence Awards luncheon in February. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Scott County school districts will extend their tax levy for equipment and operations after voters approved the measure in a special election. The extension will help support essential services in local schools.  The Quad City Times

  • Rock Island Arsenal will fire its cannon at 10 a.m. Thursday and Friday in a farewell ceremony for First Army Deputy Commanding General for Operations (Maj. Gen. Mark McCormack).  KWQC
  • Brian Payne, director for Scott County Emergency Management Agency, warns residents not to rely on sirens during severe spring and summer weather and recommends using weather radios and alerts as the sirens sound every 10 to 15 minutes when threats remain active.  KWQC

  • Local restoration expert Ken Rohwedder (Servpro Davenport) says homeowners should check downspouts, sump pumps, and basement drains now to avoid flooding when rain moves in.
