- ➤ Since opening in 2016, the Quad City Veterans Outreach Center in Davenport has grown from serving 37 veterans to helping over 4,500 with services like job placement, benefit assistance, and a food pantry—its independent status keeps it clear of proposed federal cuts to the Department of Veterans Affairs. - ➤ Officials said a 71-year-old Muscatine man died when his Nissan Rogue left the roadway near Blue Grass at 9:32 p.m. Monday, became airborne, hit a utility pole — and came to rest on its driver side. KWQC

- ➤ Lea Nelson (brand and content coordinator at Visit Quad Cities) has been chosen for Destinations International’s 30 Under 30 program because of her work in digital storytelling and promotion of the region. - ➤ Davenport is holding a public hearing at City Hall today at 5 p.m. for residents to comment on the fiscal 2026 proposed property tax levy. A second hearing is scheduled for April 16 at 5:30 p.m. to review the $271 million operating and capital improvement budgets—this plan includes slight increases in sewer and solid waste fees.
