Lee Enterprises extended its shareholder rights plan from March 27 to March 27, 2026 after the Hoffmann Family of Companies, which owns about 9.8% of the stock, expressed interest in acquiring the company.

The board said it will review any credible proposal and work with Hoffmann if further discussions take place.

Davenport approved a new agreement with the public works union after months of negotiations—raising wages by 3% starting July 1 and planning for additional increases in years two and three.

On Wednesday, the Davenport City Council unanimously approved resolutions for the Duck Creek trail extension and 4th Street conversion projects—plans that include converting 3rd and 4th Streets to two-way traffic.

The council awarded Langman Construction Inc an $841,489 contract for the trail extension and approved a $3,694,670 funding deal with the Iowa Department of Transportation for the 4th Street project—3rd Street construction began in fall 2024 and bidding for 4th Street is expected this summer.
