- ➤ CASI in Davenport will host a sock hop fundraiser with live music by The Tailfins at 1035 W. Kimberly Road on Thursday, April 10 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.—doors will open at 5 and the band will play from 6 to 9 while $5 admission, dinner, concessions, a cash bar and a 50/50 raffle help support services for older adults. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ After a 911 call of a man on fire, firefighters arrived at a home on West 2nd Street on Mar. 31 and found a severely injured man in the basement—he was taken to Mercy One Hospital while the fire, already out and with no home damage, remains under investigation. KWQC
- ➤ On Friday, Davenport firefighters responded to a fire at a Rockingham Road duplex that displaced seven residents, and on Sunday they rescued a man whose basement caught fire on West Second Street—one man was hospitalized with severe injuries while the building had no fire damage. - ➤ Ragged Records in Davenport and Rock Island will host a Record Store Day event on Saturday, April 12, opening at 9 a.m. to offer tote bags to early shoppers and a 20% discount on used LPs, CDs, and tapes beginning at 1 p.m.—the downtown store will give bags to the first 200 customers while the Rock Island location will serve the first 50.
