  • Four leading Iowa craft beverage brands have joined forces to form the Parallel Brewery Collective to help retailers stock local beers and spirits more easily by uniting Mississippi River Distilling Company, SingleSpeed Brewing, Backpocket Brewing and Five Cities Brewing—each remaining independently owned.  OurQuadCities

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Bryan Renfro was approved as the new chancellor of Eastern Iowa Community Colleges during a special board meeting on April 1. He was formerly president at John Wood Community College in Quincy + his appointment was announced by board member Robert Gallagher + board member Michelle Garvin.  Quad Cities Business Journal

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Quad Cities International Airport celebrated completion of Phase 1 of Project Gateway on Monday, March 31 when it held a ribbon cutting for a 14,600-square-foot baggage handling area with a modern conveyor belt system and updated ticket counters — part of an $18 million renovation.  Quad Cities Business Journal

HEALTH NEWS

  • Over 100 St. Ambrose students and supporters will dance for 13.1 hours at the Rogalski Center Ballroom at St. Ambrose University on April 5 to raise funds for a NICU expansion at the local children’s hospital. Funds raised will support upgrades to Iowa’s only Level 4 neonatal unit that cares for critically ill infants—ensuring enhanced care for the smallest patients.  OurQuadCities
