CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Alexis Roelandt, a 19-year-old from Davenport, was found dead in a Rock Island motel room and her death from traumatic head injuries was ruled a homicide by the county coroner — police are investigating the case after arriving at the American Motor Inn on Saturday at 11:11 a.m. KWQC
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Junior Achievement of the Heartland announced that its President and CEO Dougal Nelson will retire on Tuesday, Sept. 30 and that a national search is underway for his replacement. Nelson, who began volunteering with JA in 2001 and became CEO in 2018, led key initiatives including the opening of the JA Inspiration Center last October — a milestone that highlights his transformative impact on the organization.
