- ➤ Two Men and a Truck is collecting household items for the Movers for Moms drive supporting local families facing homelessness; donations will go to Humility Homes and Services with drop off points in Davenport + nearby towns, and the drive ends May 5. KWQC
- ➤ Leaders and advocates gathered Thursday in Bettendorf to examine growing homelessness and a shortage of over 7,000 affordable rentals amid a 158% increase in state funding, noting an estimated 1,500+ people may be undercounted. More than 340 signed up for the conference to discuss next steps. KWQC
- ➤ Brandy and Kristin Hall were honored as Restaurant Service Stars during QC Restaurant Week on Thursday at the Celebration Belle on the Quad Cities. Restaurant Week continues through Sunday so local guests can enjoy exceptional service and community flavors. KWQC

- ➤ Officials closed the alley behind 110 East 8th Street to through traffic today for a one-day safety measure; drivers should use alternate routes as directed by local signs. KWQC

- ➤ At Hammond-Henry Hospital, patients use aquatic therapy in a special pool that rises from the floor for easy water access. Physical therapist Marc Peirce says the treatment adds resistance or eases movement & improves recovery. KWQC
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The River Bandits (the local Quad Cities team) earned their first win of the season by beating the Timber Rattlers 11-1 in game 3 on Apr. 9, improving their record to 1-2. KWQC
- ➤ Despite rain on Apr. 9, athletes gathered at Brady Street Stadium for the 91st annual Jesse Day Invitational. Davenport Central boys earned 115 points while North Scott girls scored 124, and Muscatine finished first in the 4x100 shuttle hurdle relay in 1:09. KWQC
- ➤ Davenport native Divine Bourrage transferred to Illinois after one season at LSU — she entered the transfer portal to join the Fighting Illini in the Big Ten Conference. KWQC
