- ➤ DuTrac Community Credit Union will host its 3rd Annual Diaper Drive throughout May to support local families by collecting essential supplies — the drive is a community-led effort aimed at meeting local needs. The Quad City Times
- ➤ On Thursday, April 16, Dress for Success Quad Cities will open its doors from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at 423 East 32nd St. (new executive director Mikael Gibson will be present), inviting community members to explore career programs and volunteer opportunities. Quad Cities Business Journal
- ➤ Visit Quad Cities surprised honorees at their workplaces today during QC Restaurant Week, celebrating local service stars + recognizing their contributions to the dining scene. The Dispatch Argus

- ➤ John Deere announced nearly 50 employees will return to work across three facilities as 21 move to Dubuque Works, 20 head to Davenport Works and eight join Coffeyville Works. The company said the remaining workers will resume duties throughout April to support fabrication, assembly and material handling. KWQC

- ➤ Visit Quad Cities surprised restaurant workers by honoring the 2026 QC Restaurant Week Service Stars at their respective workplaces. The awards recognized outstanding service and celebrated local dining excellence. The Quad City Times

- ➤ Gas prices in the Quad-Cities jumped nearly 30 cents in the past week and are 47.2 cents per gallon higher than a month ago + 73.8 cents higher than a year ago. The Dispatch Argus

- ➤ The $3 million Great Oaks High School (Career Center) will open in fall in Davenport at the former Big Lots building on Brady Street, offering a second chance at diplomas and career training in construction, manufacturing and healthcare for students ages 16 to 21. Enrollment opens in May. KWQC
- ➤ Thrivent Financial Advisors Thomas Brooke and Lillie Huhndorf will host a workshop for families to learn special needs planning. - ➤ Davenport Fire Department invites community members to submit name ideas for its new rescue boat + the form closes Friday, with the boat arriving the week of Apr. 27 and a naming ceremony planned for late May or early June. KWQC
