- ➤ The Rock Island Arsenal Golf Course will reopen to the public on April 26 after closing in September 2018 — its 9-hole layout mostly retains historic holes from 1897 — and Army Garrison commander Col. - ➤ A new nonprofit in Davenport called Uplifting Care Givers Association wants to help caregivers, including nurses and family members, who work without pay and face stress that can cut 10 years off their lives. - ➤ Illinois-based Martin Equipment entered a partnership with Cemen Tech — the world’s largest volumetric concrete mixer manufacturer — to become the exclusive dealer in Eastern Iowa and Central Illinois. - ➤ AFP IL Quad Cities Chapter will host its Success in Fundraising conference on May 1 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Modern Woodmen Park in Davenport—aimed at fundraising professionals of all levels. - ➤ Police officers were seen searching a BP parking lot on Locust Street and Bridge Avenue early Thursday morning as part of an ongoing investigation — officials have not released further details. KWQC

- ➤ According to the new monthly jobs report, Iowa's unemployment rate increased from 3.3% in February to 3.4% in March and the state lost 11,800 jobs over the past year—declines hit mining, manufacturing and other sectors while education and health services gained positions. More than 50,000 job openings remain and Iowa Workforce Development is helping job seekers match their skills with available positions. KWQC

- ➤ The Davenport Civil Rights Commission has set recommendations to address its executive director’s concerns and will meet with city council in May—eight months after the last joint meeting. The Dispatch Argus

- ➤ Carter Bernier, a MercyOne Genesis physical therapist certified in orthopedic care and golf performance, said his clinic at the TBK Bank Sports Complex in Bettendorf offers therapy and a swing review program to help golfers avoid injuries.
