- ➤ On Friday, May 2 from 6 — 9 p.m., Tapestry Farms will host its annual Spring Fling benefit at the Waterfront Convention Center in Bettendorf to raise funds for refugee assistance. The event will feature live music, food and a silent auction along with a keynote speech by Lanon Baccam to support local programs that help refugees access housing, education and healthcare. - ➤ DuTrac Community Credit Union has launched its second annual Diaper Drive to help families who struggle to afford diapers—aiming to collect 7,500 diapers by May 31 with donations available at any DuTrac branch for local partner organizations such as United Way Dubuque Area Tri-States and Hiney Helpers of the Quad Cities. - ➤ Bettendorf man Blake Coleman, 30, was arrested during a narcotics investigation after police found cocaine, .380 ammunition and thousands of dollars in cash at two residences and in a vehicle—he is now held on a $15,000 cash-only bond and faces charges for controlled substance violation, interference with official acts and possession of a firearm by a felon with a hearing set for May 2. - ➤ Augustana College and Palmer College of Chiropractic will launch an accelerated dual-degree program in fall that lets students earn a BA in kinesiology at Augustana and a Doctor of Chiropractic at Palmer—saving about one year by transferring up to 30 credit hours. The program uses a reverse transfer model to build clinical skills and prepare graduates for careers in healthcare. OurQuadCities
- ➤ The Bettendorf Community School District announced that Scott Martin will start as its new Director of Operations on April 28 — he worked at Indianapolis Public Schools, Davenport Community School District, and Bartholomew Consolidated School Corporation. - ➤ Nine tornadoes hit the area Easter Sunday night, and one twister rated EF 1 with 100 mph winds touched down from Victoria to Galva—spanning 16 miles and measuring about 150 yards wide—according to the National Weather Service. OurQuadCities

- ➤ Davenport officials hosted a tour on Tuesday that showcased six renovated properties to honor National Community Development Week using about $2 million in federal funds. - ➤ Mallory Bagby, a former city attorney, filed a lawsuit against Davenport after she said city officials—including the mayor, aldermen and employees—harassed her and tried to push her out of City Hall. She filed her suit last week, asked for a settlement and also sent a complaint to the Iowa Civil Rights Commission while the city refused to comment. KWQC
