  • The Waste Commission of Scott County marks a key milestone as the Scott Area Recycling Center sorted 1 billion pounds of material from the Quad-Cities and surrounding communities since curbside collection began in 1995.  The Dispatch Argus

  • Physician's assistant Jennifer Cassatt of MercyOne Genesis Plastic Surgery urges Davenport residents to protect their skin as warming weather increases sun exposure risks. She advises treatments such as lightening creams, chemical peels, and light treatment for brown spots and red patches — and recommends checking unusual spots for skin cancer.  KWQC

  • Pleasant Valley girls soccer defeated Central DeWitt 2-0 in DeWitt last night while Davenport North boys soccer tied Assumption 0-0 in a local match — both contests showcased competitive play in the region.  KWQC
  • Danny Fleener, a Quad Cities runner, completed 50 marathons in 50 states last month & credits his journey with boosting both his physical strength and mental clarity. He began his marathon career in 2002 after accepting a workout challenge with his dad.  KWQC
  • Joan Kranovich, VP of Business Growth at Sports QC, was named to the Sports Events & Tourism Association board during a symposium in Las Vegas on April 22. The move came as her organization, part of Visit Quad Cities, gained national attention.  Quad Cities Business Journal
