Humility Homes and Services will host 'Homelessness in the QC: An Immersion Experience' on Friday, May 2, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at its emergency shelter on W.
5th St. in Davenport—participants will walk common routes to access essential services, listen to firsthand accounts, and finish with a shared meal at Café on Vine. Registration is open until April 30.
Data from Quad Cities International Airport showed Allegiant's flights carried 27% more boarding passengers and 29% more disembarking passengers in March compared to last year, the largest gain among major airlines.
Officials said seasonal flights and limited daily routes likely helped boost the numbers—further study will reveal more details.
In March, Allegiant led a rise in travel at QC Airport as 8,825 passengers got on flights & 9,144 got off flights, which marked increases of 27% and 29% over last March.
The data shows Allegiant outpaced all other airlines from the Quad Cities.
WIU-QC leaders, faculty and students have petitioned Illinois lawmakers for $7.2 million in operational funds—money the campus has lacked since it opened in 2012—and the bill would support an Innovation Campus that aims to boost local workforce development.
On Wednesday, Davenport City Council voted to hire a firm to audit seven years of ballpark purchases at Modern Woodmen Park, to lower industrial wastewater discharge limits for industrial users beginning in 2028, and to approve a $271.9 million budget effective July 1 that funds operating and capital improvements — the council also approved contracts for local infrastructure repairs and a junior theatre renovation.
