- ➤ Bettendorf officials are asking for public input on the future development of Forest Grove Park. Residents can give in-person feedback on Wednesday, May 6 at the park. The Dispatch Argus
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ On Monday, Davenport school board approved purchasing two properties on Main and Locust streets to expand parking and drop-off areas. The Main property known as Iron + Grain Coffee House will support the administration building while the Locust site will be redeveloped for Sudlow Middle School parking before the end of July. KWQC
- ➤ University of Iowa John Pappajohn Entrepreneurial Center awarded $16,750 in grants to Venture School graduates after pitch competitions across hubs including Des Moines, Iowa City, Mason City, Ottumwa and the Quad Cities during the week of April 20; the program will resume this fall in Iowa City and Cedar Rapids. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Six Quad Cities organizations received a total of $57,000 in Water and Environment grants from American Water Charitable Foundation and Iowa American Water to protect local water resources. The grants supported projects like water testing at local streams and climate science education for girls. Quad Cities Business Journal

- ➤ Layla is a 10-year-old dog now at the Humane Society of Scott County who got along with dogs and children. The shelter is open Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 12:00 to 5:30 p.m., Thursday 2:30 to 5 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 12:00 to 4:30 p.m., and fee waivers apply May 1 to May 17. KWQC
