Hiney Heroes is joining the World’s Largest Diaper Drive to collect over 2 million diapers in May for local families in need.
The drive will hold collections at various Quad Cities sites + all donations will remain in the community.
Six manufacturers across the Quad Cities will invest in new technology with grants from Iowa’s FY 2025 Manufacturing 4.0 Technology Investment Program—awards totaling over $315,000 to local companies will help leverage about $5.5 million in projects—as part of a state effort to boost productivity.
The Alternating Currents Festival will run August 14th to 17th as it fills Downtown Davenport, Rock Island, and Bettendorf with music, comedy, film, and art at over 40 venues.
The event will feature new and popular acts from its first lineup in Davenport — including groups like Hembree and Post Sex Nachos — and will add more community partners as it grows.
Davenport is ending its AmeriCorps program because federal funding was cut—Volunteer Iowa notified city officials on April 25 to close all local grant programs within 14 days, affecting 22 members and several community services.
