  • U.S. Rep. Randy Feenstra held a round table with Quad-Cities business owners yesterday in Davenport & he is one of five candidates running for governor.  The Dispatch Argus
  • Work to expand 4th Street intersections at Gaines and Brown streets will reduce traffic to one lane on Monday, May 4, affecting southbound semis on Harrison and requiring rerouting through 5th and Western streets while projects at Pine-Telegraph and 4th-Fillmore are scheduled for later this month.  KWQC
  • Tom Vilsack (former Agriculture Secretary and now World Food Prize Foundation CEO) is in Davenport today to mark the foundation’s 40-year milestone and highlight the region’s connection to music legend Bix Beiderbecke. His visit spotlights local efforts in food security and community pride.  KWQC

  • Moline baseball won the 6th annual Douglas Cup — defeating Rock Island 13-3 in six innings.  KWQC
  • The Great River chapter of the Sports Car Club of America starts its season today with autocross racing at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds near Gypsy Highway. Drivers will compete on a course marked by traffic cones while spectators can watch for free & ride along with helmets provided.  KWQC
  • Highlights from high school sports were published on May 1, featuring Geneseo vs Rockridge and Princeton vs Kewanee softball games, a girls soccer contest between Rock Island and Davenport Central, plus Pleasant Valley’s signing day.
