- ➤ Quad-Cities residents are joining National Bike to Work Week by riding bikes instead of taking cars as the Quad Cities Bicycle Club held free breakfasts in Davenport, Bettendorf, Moline and Rock Island. Local officials and bikers say new bike lanes & safer routes have encouraged more people to ride to work. The Dispatch Argus
- ➤ Veterans on the latest Honor Flight from the Quad Cities returned Tuesday night with a special flag honoring Michael Tessendorf, a veteran who died six weeks earlier and was laid to rest at Rock Island National Cemetery. The flag covered his coffin before being folded into a triangle and was carried on the flight because he could not do so himself. OurQuadCities

- ➤ Daniel Hinrich testified last week that his long friendship with Adriana Blake helped Davenport police arrest her and Devon Braet for the Jan. 15 double murders of Brian Goodwin and Amy Smith at 5210 N. Division St.—Blake is on trial this week while Braet will be tried later. The Quad City Times
- ➤ Daniel Hinrich testified last week that his eight-year friendship with Adriana Blake led him to help Davenport police arrest Blake and Devon Braet for the January 15 double murder of Brian Goodwin and Amy Smith at a basement apartment on N. Division St.—both now face multiple charges. The Dispatch Argus

- ➤ St. Ambrose University in Davenport will hold its 2025 spring commencement on Saturday, May 17 at Vibrant Arena at the Mark in downtown Moline—doors open at 10 a.m. and check-in begins at 10:30 a.m.; University President Amy Novak will lead the ceremony while Rev. - ➤ Kathy Dustimer retired after 42 years of teaching nursing at Black Hawk College—where she held her final pin ceremony for LPN graduates—and now plans to spend more time with family, hiking and traveling.
