Police departments and Dunkin’ hosted the 11th annual Cop on a Rooftop fundraiser on Friday, May 15 at Dunkin’ locations including Rock Island to support Special Olympics Illinois; donations raised funds for free sports training and health services and came with thank-you items.

Employers and veterans are invited to Vet TalkX on Wednesday, June 17 at Black Hawk College’s Hawk’s Nest (room 118, Building 4) to learn how hiring veterans benefits local workplaces.

The free event runs from 1 to 4:30 p.m. and features keynote Dillon Behr along with other expert speakers.

Amazon cut the ribbon on its last mile facility in Davenport, which now employs about 400 people following its October opening.
