- ➤ Nearly 50 students, parents, and staff rode a two-mile bike bus on May 16 from Coffee Apothecary to Paul Norton Elementary School in Bettendorf as part of an initiative started by Lindsey DeMuynck and her son Vince. The group plans to add more ride days and extend its route in the coming weeks—helping more families start their school day actively. The Dispatch Argus

- ➤ Business updates in the Quad Cities show Ann's Hallmark in East Moline will close at the end of June as its owners retire—Channel Cat will mark 30 years with a ribbon cutting on May 23 at 10 a.m. at the John Deere Commons Dock, and Homerun Tacos launched its baseball-themed food truck on May 3. Additional changes include Aunt Sally's Pantry Front Porch Bakery opening in Sherrard on May 13, Thunder Bay Grille in Davenport closing on May 14, and upcoming closures and ribbon cuttings at Joann Fabrics & Crafts plus events at Aledo Bark Park, Late Rider, Gregg Hancock State Farm and Iron Tee Golf. - ➤ The City of Davenport and Common Chord have partnered to bring back the Big 9 Summer Concert Series this summer to offer live music at downtown hotspots and riverfront parks while celebrating Davenport’s nine miles of Mississippi riverfront.
