- ➤ The Quad Cities Bicycle Club will sponsor the Ride of Silence on May 21 to honor cyclists who have been killed or injured on public roads. The ride will start at 6 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m. at Schwiebert Riverfront Park in Rock Island — all riders must wear helmets, follow safety rules, and remain silent during the ride. - ➤ Royal Neighbors of America celebrated its 130th anniversary on May 18 in Rock Island—drawing over 100 people—while former Rock Island Mayor Mike Thoms issued his final proclamation praising the company for awarding $44 million in grants, scholarships and service in 2024. The Quad City Times
