- ➤ Channel Cat Water Taxi launches its 2026 season on Memorial Day weekend and will operate daily until the end of September with weekend-only trips into mid-October. The service features live music & kid-friendly river talks, with tickets sold onboard via cash only or online. KWQC

EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Davenport Community School District has launched PathWise Student Tracking, a system that gives students a QR code lanyard to scan when boarding and leaving buses (trialed at Walcott earlier) so officials can track their rides and boost safety. - ➤ Over 500 college aviators (from over 30 colleges) are competing in flight and safety events at SAFECON at Quad Cities International Airport; the conference runs through Saturday. KWQC
- ➤ Project SEARCH honored seven interns during a graduation ceremony on Wednesday in Davenport as they completed a year-long internship program with local schools (including Davenport Community School District) and senior living facilities; five graduates have already secured jobs. KWQC

- ➤ MercyOne has named Robert Baxter as its new president and CEO, effective June 22. Baxter, a University of Iowa alum from Bon Secours Mercy Health, will lead the health system that employs over 20,000 colleagues + oversees more than 230 clinics and centers across the region. KWQC
