On May 21, 2025, during a trial over city-paid settlements for 2023 harassment claims, Davenport council members and former officials testified they had not seen the demand letters or settlement agreements before the deals were ratified in open session after a closed meeting.

Former Administrator Corri Spiegel and ex-city attorney Tom Warner testified that council members learned of the agreements only after they were released by Freedom of Information Act requests—raising questions about whether complete information was provided in advance.

The Regional Development Authority board awarded $1.9M in Spring grants on May 8 at Rhythm City Casino Resort in Davenport—funds that came from 95 applications totaling over $3.1M to support projects in economic development, arts, education, and human services.

The board said Fall Grant applications will open Tuesday, July 15.

On Tuesday morning, health care leaders held a virtual briefing on proposed Medicaid cuts that could reduce funding for care—threatening millions of Americans including over 700,000 Iowans.
