- ➤ Local car lovers will volunteer at the monthly Quad City MOPAR Cruise-Ins held at Crabby’s in Coal Valley to sell raffle tickets that benefit free cancer support programs at Gilda’s Club. The events take place on the last Tuesday of each month from May through September (the special event on Sept. 14 at Sunset Marina needs four volunteers). Quad Cities Business Journal

- ➤ An Amazon official explained that the company will expand operations in Davenport by adding a new delivery station where products will be packaged for delivery while the current fulfillment center stores items for distribution—this expansion is expected to boost local shipping efficiency. - ➤ Scott County Attorney presented video—GPS data to jurors that tracked the suspects' movements before and after the 2024 murders of Brian Goodwin and Amy Smith in Davenport. The Quad City Times
- ➤ A woman from Riverside, Mo was arrested on May 21 when LeClaire Police went to a McDonald’s parking lot on Eagle Ridge Road after a staff member called and found her sleeping in a car that was later confirmed stolen by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office & she now faces a felony second degree theft charge while held on a $1,000 cash bond with a preliminary hearing scheduled for May 30. - ➤ Common Chord, in partnership with QCCT and the City of Davenport, will host a free Live At 5 Summer Kickoff Block Party from 5-9 p.m. on June 6th in downtown Davenport—featuring local bands, an afterglow silent disco, family-friendly activities, and cultural organization giveaways while Second Street is closed to vehicular traffic. - ➤ North Scott Community School District received a $15,000 grant to fund scholarships for manufacturing training and machining skills.
