Visit Quad Cities President and CEO Dave Herrell has been selected to receive the 2026 Destination Organization Leadership Award (the leading membership association for destination organizations) and will be honored at the annual convention in Portland from July 21 to 23.

IHMVCU announced the 2026 Cash for Class winners by awarding $30,000 to 13 student members (in partnership with Dream Educational Foundation) to support their education.

The announcement came today.

This week, the Davenport School District launched a free summer food program serving children 18 and under at several local sites; meals are available Monday through Friday until July 31 — all families qualify regardless of income.

The Davenport Fire Department officially christened 'Big Red', a new rescue boat equipped with cutting-edge tech & advanced firefighting capabilities this afternoon.

Fire Chief Jeff Vanderwiere said the vessel is built to improve rescue efforts on the river.

UnityPoint Health – Robert Young Center has expanded its eating disorder care with the Quad Cities’ first Intensive Outpatient Program for adults, announced Monday, June 8.

It offers group, individual and family therapy sessions at its Davenport clinic (1704 E. 54th St.).

Patti McRae of the Quad City Animal Welfare Center presented Daisy, a couple-month-old cat that is spayed, microchipped and vaccinated.

June is adopt-a-shelter-cat month and the center welcomes visitors and volunteers (located in Milan) to support animal care.
