- ➤ Patriot River Fest returns to the LeClaire levee and riverfront on Saturday as families can join a kids fishing derby with free donuts at 7 a.m., then enjoy fishing, weight-ins, live music and a beer tent — free will donations are accepted at the gate and leashed pets receive refreshments. KWQC
- ➤ Starting today through the end of the month, QCAWC is offering half-off adoption fees for all cats & kittens to help residents find a new pet. - ➤ The American Red Cross will host the 30th annual A Taste on the River today at 6 p.m. at the Bend XPO Center in East Moline to support efforts to help families stay safe from home fires, and the event will feature food from local vendors, live music from The Yoyos & a silent auction with $50 general admission. - ➤ Police arrested Tashon J. Bea, 21, in Rock Island on Monday — the second arrest in the homicide investigation — and charged him with first-degree murder, felony intimidation with a dangerous weapon and going armed with intent after crews found Douglas C. Meier, 28, fatally wounded at the 1700 block of Gaines Street over the weekend. KWQC
- ➤ Davenport police arrested Justin N. Joway, 29, early Tuesday after he threw rocks that broke the front doors and windows at the Rock Island Police Department and shattered a window at Hotel Blackhawk, and he now faces charges for felony criminal mischief and interference with official acts.
