- ➤ The Quad City Animal Welfare Clinic is urgently seeking volunteers to support its drive-up vaccine clinics every Wednesday from 8 to 11 a.m. and on the first Saturday of each month, along with mobile wellness clinics held on the first Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. Volunteers are needed from 7:30 a.m. until noon for drive-ups and from 1:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. for mobile events (contact Shayenne at 309-787-6830 option 3 ext. 39 or email [email protected]). - ➤ Downtown Davenport celebrated big wins at the annual meeting on June 11 at Hotel Blackhawk when Kyle Carter of the Downtown Davenport Partnership outlined plans for projects that will soon bring thousands of visitors to the area. - ➤ St. Ambrose University and Eastern Iowa Community Colleges have launched a new guest enrollment agreement — allowing SAU online nursing students to complete their degrees by taking approved courses at EICC. The partnership builds on an existing joint enrollment agreement — offering flexible and affordable nursing education for students in rural areas. Quad Cities Business Journal
- ➤ Three Eastern Iowa Community Colleges retirees have been chosen as 2025 Emeritus Award recipients for their long service to students, the colleges, and the community. Their awards will be presented Monday, June 16 at 5:30 p.m. at the Scott Community College Urban Campus Community Room in Davenport — honoring faculty member Shirley Turnis and staff members Jenifer Green and Tammy Hoover. - ➤ Family Resources and Hand in Hand announced a new parent-funded mental health pilot program that places a licensed school-based therapist in Hand in Hand preschool classrooms to support children ages 3 to 5 under the guidance of local advocate Marie Feehan.
