- ➤ SEAL Family Legacy will host its third annual Legacy Gala on July 11 at Rhythm City Casino Resort in Davenport to raise funds for Gold Star Families with children. A free annual ride and cruise will also depart from the resort on July 12 at 10:30 a.m.—offering another way for local community members to support the cause. OurQuadCities

- ➤ Jury selection today for Devon Braet's trial in Davenport begins as he faces 15 charges — including two counts of first-degree murder for the Jan 15 shooting deaths of Brian Goodwin and Amy Smith — after his co-defendant was found guilty in a related case. The Quad City Times
- ➤ A 25-year-old man from Moline was arrested in Davenport after police responded to a disturbance at the M Lounge nightclub early Sunday at about 1:39 a.m.—he reportedly lifted his shirt to display a gun, ran from officers, threw the weapon under a dumpster, and was later found with cocaine in his possession. - ➤ The Moline Public Library will host its first teen musical contest on July 24 at 6 p.m. in the Library Gardens for young musicians in the Quad Cities. Contestants in grades 5 through 12 must register by July 22 (using a Google form) and limit their performance to six minutes (including setup and tear down). KWQC
- ➤ On Saturday in LeClaire Park, the annual Juneteenth Festival brought community members together with food trucks and local vendors showing exhibits on the holiday's meaning. The event crowned Mariella Mendez as Miss Juneteenth—showing that the festivities were for everyone. KWQC
