Blackhawk Bank & Trust reopened its expanded Valley Center branch on Monday, June 15 in Moline (4100 44th Ave) with 3,860 sqft added and upgraded technology for both business and personal banking.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 24 by the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce.

KWQC won six awards from the Iowa Broadcasters Association this week, including honors for news and creative services at the station.

The honors cover lifestyle programming, newscasts, breaking news and a public service campaign that spotlights local efforts.

A bio-blitz will take place next week at Wapsi River Environmental Education Center (225-acre site) and Sherman Park (207-acre venue) to engage residents in exploring local biodiversity and learning about regional plants and wildlife.

Pending council approval, Bettendorf will add a bicycle pump track and playground to Middle Park.

The project will be the city's first such amenity for local families.
