HEALTH NEWS

  • Rich Whitaker, CEO of Davenport-based nonprofit Vera French, said changes to Iowa’s mental health system starting July 1 will lower reimbursement rates—some services may be paid only 30-40% of Medicaid rates—and could make it harder for clients to get the care they need. The state will combine 13 regions into 7 districts to streamline services statewide.  The Quad City Times

  • The Quad-City Times Bix 7 will run on July 26 with a new friends and family area (with food trucks, games, and live music) and extra prizes for first responders.
