COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Quad Cities Bicycle Club is hosting the 'Christmas in July' Bike Tour on Sunday, July 13 starting at noon at Front Street Brewery’s taproom at the Freight House in Davenport. Cyclists will ride 10 miles and visit five local breweries – including Stomp Box, Great River, Adventurous and Bent River – while paying $10 in cash to benefit Bikes For Tykes.  OurQuadCities

CRIME NEWS

  • Detective Samantha Deney presented jurors a video timeline that tracked Devon Braet's movements in Davenport before and after the January 15 killings of Brian Goodwin and Amy Smith—this evidence backed witness accounts in his double murder trial.  The Quad City Times
  • A Moline woman was arrested Wednesday in Bettendorf on charges of operating a massage parlor as a front for prostitution—police said it marks the second arrest linked to the operation.  The Quad City Times
  • A man was seriously injured by a bullet wound after a shooting on North Ripley Street near the 5200 block, where police found him just after 8:00 p.m. Saturday night — he was taken to a nearby hospital for life-saving care.  KWQC
  • Davenport police reported that a 7-year-old girl who was last seen riding a blue and pink bike near 16th and Warren at 1:45 p.m. last Saturday was found safe and reunited with her family at 4:56 p.m.—the department thanked the public for their help.  KWQC

  • The Figge Art Museum welcomes four new exhibits—with free admission throughout July—for local visitors to explore fresh art.  OurQuadCities

HEALTH NEWS

  • The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services announced it will end the Integrated Health Home program by December 31 as it shifts to a new Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic model. Adult transition meetings began on July 1 and will end on September 30 — while children’s meetings start on August 1 and finish on December 30 — and the department accepts public comments until July 30 at 4:30 p.m.  OurQuadCities

  • Spectators at the John Deere Classic showed their passion for fashion by wearing creative outfits (like themed party shirts) that told a story. Round three of play took place Saturday and ended with a concert featuring country star Dierks Bentley (headlining Concerts on the Course).  KWQC
