- ➤ On Sunday, July 13, the Quad Cities Bicycle Club will host its annual 'Christmas in July' Bike Tour, a 10-mile ride that raises money for Bikes for Tykes to supply local children with bicycles and gear. The ride—starting and ending at Front Street Brewery’s taproom at the Freight House—will stop at five local breweries and finish around 4 p.m. KWQC

- ➤ State Sen. Mike Halpin broke with his party and voted no on the state’s $55.1 billion 2026 budget because it did not meet the Quad-Cities needs—he said the plan left out the $7.2 million funding boost for the WIU-QC campus. The Dispatch Argus
- ➤ The city council approved a potential $724,000 loan for developers to convert the historic Annie Wittenmyer campus into affordable housing because federal review delays may cause the developers to lose their HUD HOME loan (the funds come from the city's 2021 sale of the Heritage apartments building). - ➤ On July 1, Midwest Hope and Healing awarded $9,000 to three local nonprofits that support cancer care. Genesis Health Foundation’s McKay Center for Breast Health Fund Voucher Program received $4,000, Two Rivers YMCA’s LIVESTRONG at the Y Program got $2,000, and Children’s Cancer Connection Quad Cities Camperships received $3,000 during a ceremony hosted by the Moline Regional Community Foundation.
