The Quad Cities River Bandits and MercyOne Genesis honored 10-year-old Haven Sottos of Long Grove in their long-running Home Runs for Life program as she continues to progress in speech, movement, and eating despite early health challenges, recognizing both her efforts and her caregivers.

Quad-Cities Hy-Vees donated $1,000 to each of 10 local nonprofits as part of its Birdies for Charity drive — reinforcing local community support in Davenport.

Residents are invited to meet Davenport's new Police Chief Greg Behning and Assistant Chief Jason Smith on July 27 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the police department's community room, where officials will answer questions and welcome community input.

The MercyOne Genesis Foundation awarded a $132,645 grant to buy critical equipment for the NICU and birth centers at MercyOne Genesis in Davenport and Silvis.

The donation will help improve care for mothers, babies and caregivers in the community.

Tournament officials announced that the 2027 John Deere Classic will be held Jun.

28 through Jul. 4 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis. Tournament play will begin Thursday, Jul. 1 and finish Sunday, Jul. 4.
