- ➤ Farm Rescue has raised $1.5 million in six years from Busch Light’s special corn cans that support equipment rentals and volunteer expenses for farmers in crisis. The nonprofit has aided over 1,200 families and helped 12 families near the Quad Cities through referrals from trusted farm connections. OurQuadCities

- ➤ The Iowa Vintage Fest ended yesterday at the RiverCenter in Davenport—more than 60 vendors sold vintage clothing, jewelry and collectibles from across the Midwest. The next fest will take place in Coralville on August 24—and return to Davenport on November 1. OurQuadCities

- ➤ Quad Cities educators are invited to Teacher Appreciation Night during Rust Belt Americana’s opening reception on Aug. 7 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at the Bend Xpo Center in East Moline. Registration is limited to 100 educators — host Rob Wolfe will launch his local trade-career scholarship program as guest speaker Jim Wichman challenges teachers to build value-centered schools. - ➤ Owner Kelsey Pisel opened Zero Waste Reserve in Bettendorf when she realized recycling was not enough to reduce waste—she built the store from her own experience and community support. The shop celebrated its second anniversary and has helped eliminate 16,000 containers from the landfill. KWQC
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ A federal judge said parts of Iowa's new law that would control companies offering prescription discount cards may be paused—limiting its scope to only some companies. Lawmakers will review the ruling to decide how to move forward with the regulation. The Dispatch Argus
- ➤ WQPT and WVIK face federal funding cuts from a rescission bill that ends federal support on Oct. 1—WQPT will lose about half of its annual CPB funding while WVIK will see a 13% budget cut. Both stations are planning operational changes—WQPT may cut staffing and WVIK is looking to boost donations—to mitigate the impact of these losses. The Quad City Times
