- ➤ On July 24 at about 11:07 a.m., Davenport police went to an abandoned vehicle on S. Rolff St. where they found a man with a gunshot injury who was confirmed dead, and they charged 19-year-old Kyontah Little and a 16-year-old with first-degree murder and first-degree robbery in a case that does not appear random. - ➤ Two people were arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred July 24 in Davenport, police said + the investigation continues. The Quad City Times

- ➤ LULAC Council 10 in Davenport awarded $30,000 in scholarships to 32 students from the Quad Cities and surrounding areas. The recipients will be honored at a banquet tomorrow at 6 p.m. at the LULAC Center—highlighting support for academic and artistic achievement. KWQC

- ➤ Iowa House Speaker Pat Grassley visited Scott County this week—invited by Rep. Gary Mohr—and spoke at the Cambria Hotel in Davenport about state economic strategies that include a flat 3.8% income tax to boost local growth.
