The road around Quad Cities International Airport formerly known as 69th Avenue is now named George Kirk Drive to honor the airport’s first manager and WWII hero who flew 78 combat missions.
His family donated artifacts that will be shown in the new terminal design under construction.

Scott Mullen was fired as executive director of Vibrant Arena on July 17 after he was charged with a third OWI offense on May 18—Rocky Jones has been named to take over his duties.
