- ➤ The road around Quad Cities International Airport formerly known as 69th Avenue is now named George Kirk Drive to honor the airport’s first manager and WWII hero who flew 78 combat missions. His family donated artifacts that will be shown in the new terminal design under construction. KWQC
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Scott Mullen was fired as executive director of Vibrant Arena on July 17 after he was charged with a third OWI offense on May 18—Rocky Jones has been named to take over his duties. Mullen had offered a demotion with a pay cut and said his drinking did not affect his work, but the board said his actions put the arena at risk. The Quad City Times

- ➤ Authorities alleged that Kyontah L. Little was one of two people involved in the murder of 37-year-old LC Ball Jr. in Davenport on July 22 — details are outlined in Scott County Court records. The Quad City Times
