ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ John C. Coons, a 49-year-old Davenport resident, died Sunday when his motorcycle was struck by an SUV at the Madison Street intersection— the SUV driver was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and police are investigating the crash. KWQC
- ➤ Residents escaped a fire on Tuesday evening in a Davenport home on the 800 block of East Rusholme Street—no injuries were reported. The Quad City Times

- ➤ Three Iowa Quad Cities projects received over $2.2 million in SBA loans in July to boost local growth and create new jobs. The funds will help Murphy Court LLC in DeWitt create 18 jobs, Akshay Patel Corporation in Davenport add two new jobs and retain seven, and Midwest Iron Addicts in Walcott create two jobs — supporting a range of local businesses. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A Davenport man, 53-year-old Charles R. Lovedy, is charged with two counts of second-degree sexual abuse, two counts of third-degree sexual abuse, continuous sexual abuse of a child, and child endangerment after he allegedly abused someone at least once per week over several years — investigators found photos of the incidents and a preliminary hearing is set for Aug. 15 with a $150,000 cash-only bond. - ➤ Disney On Ice will bring Mickey’s Search Party to the Vibrant Arena at the Mark in Moline from Dec. 4 to 7.
