- ➤ West End Revitalization unveiled nine participatory budgeting proposals on Tuesday evening at the Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center in Rock Island—these proposals, based on public comments from two meetings, will be open for voting starting August 20. The Dispatch Argus

- ➤ The Quad Cities Chamber launched a new economic development organization called Grow Quad Cities on July 1 to boost regional business growth. Chamber President Peter Tokar III said the program—operating under the Chamber's umbrella—will connect local companies and attract investment in the coming months. The Quad City Times
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Today, Cirque Italia brings its modern circus to Davenport at the Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds with acts including acrobatics, juggling, aerial stunts, roller skating and high-tech visuals (no animals are used) to highlight human talent.
