- ➤ On Saturday, about 100 people rappelled 140 feet from the Hotel Blackhawk in a Big Brothers Big Sisters event that raised around $190,000 for youth mentoring in the Quad Cities—about 200 children are on the waitlist for a mentor. KWQC
- ➤ Thousands have gathered today at Davenport Airport for the first day of the Quad City Air Show as visitors watch planes perform and families enjoy the event & create memories. Veteran attendee Mike Tuftee said he has looked forward to the air show every year since his childhood and praised its local tradition. The Quad City Times

- ➤ Traffic was backed up on Brady Street after a four-vehicle crash occurred near the 6800 block around 3:58 p.m. Saturday—one person was injured and taken to a hospital as cameras later showed the road reduced to one lane. KWQC

- ➤ A Davenport man on probation from Henry County was arrested after he was caught shoplifting at Walmart and allegedly found with more than half pound of meth and a loaded gun. The Dispatch Argus

- ➤ USDA announced new rules that stop federal funds for solar and wind projects to protect prime farmland and keep land available for farming. Clean energy advocates said the changes could limit farmers' choices and revenue from solar energy—USDA also now bans foreign-made solar panels in its programs. KWQC
