District officials urged drivers to slow down near school buses after several drivers ignored the flashing lights and extended stop arms last year in the Quad Cities area, noting fines start at $250 in Iowa and $300 in Illinois (only four-lane roads permit passing) to keep children safe.
Drivers in Davenport should be alert today as mobile speed cameras are active at 2800 Jersey Ridge Road, 1000 West 53rd Street, 700 West 53rd Street, 1100 Marquette Street, and 1900 Brady Street; additional placements are set later this week.
