Longtime owners Tim and Annette Schoenthal will retire from Lighthouse Grill and Bar, a riverfront restaurant in Fairport that has operated 44 years and now seeks a new operator before its final night on Nov.

SpeedyPie now serves hot handmade pizzas from a vending machine outside All Star Coffee at the Plex in Bettendorf.
The machine holds up to 70 pizzas, offers prices between $12.99 and $14.99, and is open 24 hours daily.

Gas prices in the Quad-Cities have risen 21 cents over one week to average $4.13 per gallon (experts say national averages may exceed $4 on Labor Day).
