ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A semi-truck was stuck under the Brady Street bridge Wednesday morning as a KWQC crew observed that only two lanes were open to traffic. KWQC
- ➤ Tuesday night, the Davenport Fire Department rescued a man and his dog from a house fire on the 5200 block of West River Drive. Crews extinguished the blaze with three engines and two ladder trucks while EMS assessed the man on scene and released him. KWQC
BUSINESS NEWS
- ➤ Eric Heismeyer, a veteran agribusiness leader, was named CEO of Landus Cooperative effective Sept. 3 after a national search replaced former CEO Matt Carstens—he will align the cooperative with its new 2026 operating plan to boost growth for farmer-owners and rural communities. CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Davenport police say a new data analysis unit and ongoing work with local nonprofits have lowered overall crime by 9% over five years—violent crimes dropped by 24% and property crimes by 6%—as officers focus on early interventions for a small group linked to most criminal activity. KWQC
- ➤ Davenport police said additional charges—attempted murder and three counts of willful injury—were filed against 23-year-old Deonte Anderson for a June 10 skatepark assault that seriously injured Eldon Caruthers; Anderson remains in custody as the investigation continues. KWQC
