- ➤ Today in LeClaire, volunteers are working to restore the historic Glendale Cemetery dating to 1830 by repairing 125 gravestones with set-aside funds and fixing 41 more through a GoFundMe campaign with a $10,000 goal. Restoration by Corson Cemetery Restoration — at $40 per stone when over 100 stones are handled — is planned to begin later this fall or early spring if the weather turns cold. KWQC
- ➤ Davenport’s annual Halloween parade will return downtown on Oct. 26. The Quad City Times
- ➤ Davenport Police Department is asking local residents to support Special Olympics by attending two fundraisers—Tip-a-Cop at Texas Roadhouse and an October Polar Plunge. The department said the events will raise funds to help local athletes and community programs. The Quad City Times

- ➤ Data from the Iowa DOT showed that road fatalities dropped by 24% last summer while Illinois saw a 7% decrease, with 73% of Iowa’s deaths occurring on rural roads compared to about 50% in Illinois.
