- ➤ Arconic Corporation commissioned its new High Purity Aluminum facility at its Davenport Works plant last Thursday, doubling onsite capacity to produce HPA needed for aviation and defense. The project was supported by a $45.5M award from the U.S. Department of War using DPA Title III. KWQC

- ➤ Tapestry Farms invites the community to a Harvest Moon Celebration on Tuesday, Oct. 7 at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral at 121 W. 12th St. in Davenport. The event will feature music by Claire Kuttler and pianist Chris Nelson, poetry, and traditional Arabic sweets to support refugees in the Quad Cities with tickets starting at $50. - ➤ The City of Davenport appointed Tim Gleason as interim city administrator effective Nov. 3 while the search for a permanent leader begins mid-October after Doug Maxeiner resigned due to health issues (he served until Oct. 1). Interviews are expected in February, with a permanent administrator slated to start in May. KWQC
- ➤ Scott County settled with a fired sheriff's office employee who filed a whistleblower suit when trial costs grew too high—county officials said they did not admit any wrongdoing. The Quad City Times
- ➤ Davenport City Council approved two economic development programs that will expand the DREAM home renovation program and start a pilot grant program offering up to $25,000 for food businesses on Rockingham Road—applications will be accepted until funds run out. The council also delayed a vote on a proposed city health center and approved rezoning for Coram Deo Academy—measures that support ongoing efforts to boost local services and growth. - ➤ NAMI Greater Mississippi Valley will host NAMIWalks—Quad Cities' largest mental health event—on Saturday, Oct 4 at the Bend XPO amphitheater starting at 8 a.m. with the walk beginning at 9:30 a.m., as the 22nd annual event brings live music, therapy dogs, and inspirational speakers to support local mental health programs.
