- ➤ The QCA has released a schedule of Halloween events across Iowa and Illinois from Oct. 17 through Nov. 1—Davenport residents will trick or treat on Oct. 31 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and can attend other local events scheduled for today and later dates. KWQC
- ➤ Lead(h)er celebrated its ninth year with the Fuel the Fire Gala at Old Oaks Winery in Milan on Oct. 9 while honoring top women from its Strike a Match Mentorship Program. The sold-out event raised $27,000 to fund the next 100 mentorship matches and recognized Kris Kellenberger as Mentor of the Year, Brooke Keck as Mentee of the Year, and Anika Martin as Found(h)er of the Year—further supporting more than 1,300 women. - ➤ Eastern Iowa Community Colleges is offering Iowa Coaching Authorization and Substitute Teacher Authorization courses in November— the coaching course begins on November 4 with both in-person and online options costing $490, while the substitute course is held on November 1 and November 8 for $100.
